Corpus Christi 7-Day Film Project (CC7D)

The CC7D is an annual filmmaking competition/screening hosted by the Corpus Christi Film Society.  Designed to celebrate area filmmakers as well as encourage the growth of the local filmmaking scene, the CC7D has more than earned its stripes. Every year has seen an increase in entries as the skill set of the filmmakers it supports has matured.

The CC7D is hosted in late summer, for more information, visit the Corpus Christi Film Society website.

Coastalthon

Dubbed Corpus Christi’s annual film and music slam, Coastalthon is hosted at the House of Rock every year and screens a slew of original short films. The night is punctuated with live music featuring some of the area’s coolest bands and the doors are open to one and all.

This year, Coastalthon takes place on April 10, 2010.

Rockport Film Festival

International in scope, local in flavor, this festival screens features, documentaries, short films and more.

The festival takes place the first weekend of November and is hosted in beautiful Rockport, TX, a charming coastal town nestled on a peninsula of windswept Oaks.  The surrounding wetlands and estuaries make this a nature lover’s dream and the city was recently recognized as one of the “top ten Coastal Art Colonies” in the country by Coastal Living Magazine.
